The legendary Rat's Hole Custom Bike Show started in Daytona Beach, Florida by organizer and promoter Karl Smith (AKA Big Daddy Rat) as part of the annual Run to the Sun festivities. Over the course of its 30-year history the show platform has expanded into Germany, France, Canada as well as several shows in the US including Sturgis Bike Week.

With the passing of Big Daddy Rat in the spring of 2002, Karl's son Ted stepped in to carry the torch for his father and keep the Rat's Hole fire burning for future generations of bike builders and fans alike. But it wasn't going to be easy. Ted quickly re-established the shows reputation for being the premier custom bike competition with the help of chief judge Tony and his international team. The Rat's Hole was back bigger and better than ever!

Since that time, Ted and his team haven't looked back. The show has flourished being featured in countless news articles, filmed on American Chopper and host of the World Biker Build-Off on the Discovery Channel providing a level of exposure that is second to none.

The stage is set for Sturgis Bike Week attendees and builders to converge on Thunder Road for the legendary Rat's Hole Custom Bike Show. The show will be jam-packed with the top customs in the world, along with music, entertainment, media and the see-and-be-seen atmosphere the Rat's Hole has become famous for.
